Happy Halloween!

Trick-or-Treat! I hope your day doesn't stink! Love, Caroline

I want to be like this lady.

She cooks in her Crock Pot everyday! I love the idea of the Crock Pot; I mean, you come home from work, your house smells good, and dinner's ready to be put on the table. But, I really only know how to make one thing...roast with potatoes and carrots. And, how often can you eat that?
Her name is Stephanie. Check out her blog! (http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/)

Apple Picking

Today was a gorgeous fall day, so we went apple picking. As expected, Caroline loved it! Here she is in action, but don't be fooled, she was actually more interested in the rotting apples on the ground!
Caroline is enjoying her hard work!

Caroline went off in search of the perfect apple...

She was determined to carry the bag herself. That bag holds 20 pounds of apples, and it was more than three-quarters full. Seriously. Plus, I'm thinking it's been a while since we've had a good picture of her tongue.
And, just before we left, one more bite (from an apple still on the tree!) Someone is in for a "real nice surprise!"

Aaron's Pumpkin Patch

Quite a few weeks ago now, this "weed" popped up by our front steps. Don't ask me how, but I knew right away that it was a pumpkin. It has narrowly escaped being pulled many times by visitors who thought they should help us with our gardening. Aaron decided that we should let it grow. He was also pretty sure that Caroline would be harvesting a pumpkin from our front yard, thus escaping a dreaded trip to the pumpkin patch.

Although I don't think it will be ready for Halloween, we do have an actual pumpkin growing in our yard!

Circleville Pumpkin Show 2008

We made our yearly pilgrimage to Circleville for the Pumpkin Show. Appropriately, Caroline got a small pumpkin from her friend, Connor, and somehow managed to lose it within the first four minutes she had it. It was no where to be found, so a picture is all we have. Caroline also enjoyed her share of fair food. She loved the french fries, but didn't care for caramel apples...whose kid is she, anyway??
Then, the kids rode some carnival rides. Caroline rode the Merry-Go-Round at the State Fair, and she rode another one this weekend. We also took her on the Ferris wheel which moved at a very quick pace. Caroline was not scared at all, and she loved the cool wind in her face. The only scary part (for Megan and me) was when we were unloading, and Caroline was getting very squirmy because she wanted it to go!
She also really like the ponies. She spent a good portion of her ride leaning forward as far as the saddle would let her, so she could pet the pony's mane. Luckily, she was being very gentle. The girl was tired, so she decided to sit down and relax for a moment.
And, here's one just for Uncle...All in all, we had a great day, and Kathy fulfilled a life-long dream of having a deep-fried Twinkie, but I thought she might disown me if I put a picture of that!

Hayride!

We went to a fall party tonight with a bunch of teachers and their kids. We had a great time! We went on a hayride and had dinner. We left after dinner (because it was quickly approaching Caroline's bedtime,) but there was a camp fire and the other kids made s'mores.

Check out the little farmer; notice her belly hanging over her pants and the piece of hay she's holding in her left hand as she drives the tractor.
Oops! Did I do that?? I forgot to mention that Caroline pulled one of the lights off the back of the trailer and dropped it in the road. It shattered and a car ran over it. I know what she's buying with this week's allowance!

Caroline's New BFF

Caroline's favorite animal is the duck. She can pick ducks out in any book she reads and she knows what a duck says. We stopped by one of our favorite little kids' stores today to buy a fall jacket, and there was a sale table sitting outside. Tucked in behind several other stuffed animals (like E.T.) was this duck, and Caroline started saying, "Duck! Duck! Duck!" So, I handed it to her, and she immediately put it up to her face and hugged it. I *had* to buy it for her!
